Bodmin Gaolbirds WI

The Bodmin Gaolbirds W.I.  are an energetic, friendly and eclectic group of ladies. We gather one evening every month for tea, cake and chit-chat, with some interesting talks and demonstrations thrown in. Everything from baking and paper craft, to fancy dress and wine tasting – you name it, we’ll give it a go!

We also run a craft club on the 4th Wednesday of the month and have taster sessions on every craft you can think of. So far we have tried our hand at Mosiac, decopatch, weaving, marbling, working with willow, learning to crochet, felting, cross stitch, jewellery making, paper-cutting, quilling, machine knitting demonstration, learn to knit to name but a few.

This Craft Club is open to anyone, not just WI members, everyone welcome.

Visitors are always welcome and there is no charge for the first couple of visits, try before you buy!

The cost of joining the WI from now until the end of the year is only NIL, great value for money, brilliant company, monthly speakers, competitions, raffle,  social events and lots of cake, what more can you want!

Next meeting – Wednesday 12th September

Talk by Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue

Hedgehog numbers have seen rapid decline across the UK in recent years, with an estimated 1.5 million remaining in England, Scotland and Wales (The State of Britain’s Hedgehogs Report, 2018). Their work is now more vital than ever to conserve this iconic species, particularly in rural areas where their decline is believed to be most rapid.
